VITA DI JACOPO DA PUNTORMO PITTORE FIORENTINO, GLI antichi ovvero maggiori dì Bartolommeadi Jacopo di Martino padre di Jacopo da Pun-»tornioj del quale al presente scriviamo la vita, eb-berOj secondo che alcuni affermano, origine dall*Ancisa castello del Valdarno di sopra , assai famo-so per avere di 11 tratta similmente la prima ori-gine gli antichi di M. Francesco Petrarca . Ma odi lì o d altronde che fossero stati i suoi maggio-ri, Bartolommeo sopraddetto, il quale fu Fiorenti-no e , secondo che mi vien detto , della famiglia •deCarucci. si dice che fu discepolo di Domenicodel Grillandajo, e che avendo molte cose lavo-rato in Valdarno, come pittore, secondo quetem-pi, ragionevole, condottosi finalmente a Empoli afare alcuni lavori, e quivi e neluoghi vicini di-morando , prese moglie in Puntormo una molto vir-tuosa e dabben fanciulla, chiamata Ales5andra , fi-gliuola di Pasquale di Zanobi e di mona Brigida ^^f^fsua donna.
